Tips for extension cord safety
Even
when exposed to normal use, extension cords will experience wear and
deterioration. Inspect cords often. Damaged or worn cords should be
replaced. Do not attempt to repair with duct or electrical tape. Never
remove prongs from a plug. Keep cords out of
traffic paths and away from areas where children play. Be careful not
to pinch cords behind furniture or against a wall. Do not run extension
cords under carpets or across doorways. When using extension cords
outdoors, be certain they are rated for the application and they are
plugged into a GFCI protected outlet.
